Figueira da Foz, Portugal – June 30, 2025 – As part of the ongoing SEAniors Alliance project two vibrant days of outdoor activities were held on the 23rd and 25th of June at Universidade Sénior in Figueira da Foz. The events brought together senior participants for a fun, educational, and environmentally conscious experience aimed at promoting active ageing and sustainability.
The program featured energizing Tai Chi and gymnastics sessions, helping participants improve their mobility, balance, and overall well-being in a social and supportive environment. Alongside these physical activities, seniors engaged in interactive games focused on plastic recycling, raising awareness about environmental challenges while fostering teamwork and laughter.
A unique educational component introduced participants to the world of sustainable fish. Through playful learning, they discovered how to identify the best times to buy fish based on seasonal availability and environmental impact—an essential step towards responsible consumption.
Hosted in the scenic coastal town of Figueira da Foz, the events highlighted the importance of keeping older generations informed, connected, and active with the younger generations. The SEAniors Alliance project continues to promote meaningful community engagement while addressing key themes, such as environmental stewardship and lifelong learning.
These successful activity days reflect the spirit of collaboration and innovation behind SEAniors Alliance, proving that it’s never too late to stay active, informed, and make a positive impact on our world.
